Georgia is a Co-Director and Principal Teacher at GLM, teaching jazz, tap, ballet, contemporary and hip hop styles to all ages and experience levels. Having always held a love of dance and teaching, launching GLM Dance Studio in 2016 was a dream come true. Seeing dancers develop their skills, confidence and passion for dance is a highlight of her role.

 

Georgia holds a Bachelor of Arts (2015), majoring in Dance and Performance, Media, Culture & Communications, a Masters of Teaching (Primary), and a Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management. As well as 6+ years teaching at GLM Dance Studio, Georgia has extensive experience teaching in primary schools across NSW and is a fulltime Kindergarten teacher at a local primary school. Her comprehensive experience has provided Georgia with the capacity and creativity to teach techniques to students of widely varying needs,  reinforcing her approach of prioritising engagement and enjoyability in order to see dancers thrive.

 

A passionate dancer, Georgia started lessons at Eileen Phillips Dance Academy at just 5 years old (with fellow Co-Director, Louisa!). Continuing with Eileen into adulthood she progressively picked up Tap and Jazz, joined the Academy’s first Eisteddfod Troupe and was selected to choreograph from just 12 years old! Georgia’s love expanded into school dance groups, participating each year in the NSW Schools Spectacular and even performing in the opening ceremony of the Youth Olympics.

 

Working with friends and colleagues in the dance industry, Georgia has had the opportunity to dance in and choreograph music video productions and charity dance projects. Outside of GLM, Georgia loves spending time with her daughter, as well as painting, plants and her puppy!
